Zine making workshop

Join us on this hands-on artistic workshop led by our pals from Glasgow Zine Library where you will create a zine of your own!

❓What is a zine?:

Zines (self-published magazines) are small publications that can be made by anyone. You can draw, write or create collages to transmit what you want to say.

Zines are often the only records of subcultures, countercultures, and alternative movements. Zines are used for creative expression and to share information, distribute resources and build community – on topics from fan culture to social justice.

👩‍🔬What will we be doing at the workshop?:

Each of us will create their very own zine!

One of our pals from GZL will come over to our arts space and give us the step-by-step on how to put our ideas in zine form. From folding paper to make a small booklet, to organizing your content.

What would you like to talk about? Your favourite food? Your favourite musician? The best places to visit in Glasgow? Anything goes!

We will have art materials available, but if there is anything you would like to use, bring it over!

🕓When?:

• We'll meet at Refuweegee's art space on the second floor (make sure to stopy by Reception first!) to start the workshop at 11:00am.

• We'll finish around 1:00pm.

‼️Important:

• We have space for 15 people

• The workshop will be in English

• This is a fantastic opportunity for everyone to stretch their creative muscles while having a relaxed time!

• Children are always welcome to come, but this activity might be better suited for children 12+
