Your donations

Welcome pack items are essential for providing the initial gesture of kindness that we wish to extend to all those arriving in Scotland. You can find details below of all of the items that we need regularly and also some of those that we can’t accept.

In order to be able to respond flexibly to the needs of those arriving; to raise awareness of refugee rights in the local community; and to host events that bring old and new Scots together, we rely on your cash donations. We can make your money go a really long way!

Please note we cannot take womens or babies clothing at the moment. A list of the items we need most right now can be found on this page.

Refuweegee deliver over 100 welcome packs every month, each one containing essential items like toiletries and stationery, Scottish items and your 'Letters fae the locals'. We've put together a list of the items that go into our welcome packs in our Welcome Pack Appeal and donations guide and are hugely grateful for anything that you are able to contribute - items that we regularly run low on are toiletries and adult hats and gloves.

We also run two large pop-up events each month, where we provide individuals and families with the opportunity to select items that they need. We need the following items for our pop up events;

  • Clothing
    We welcome donations of WARM clothing for adults and children. Whilst second-hand clothing is encouraged please ensure that all items are in good condition and clean. If you wouldn't give it to someone you do know, please don't give it to someone you don't.

  • Homeware/Household items
    What helps your house feel like a home? Pictures, mirrors, cushions, photo frames, candles etc.

  • Toys & games
    We are always in need of good condition, second-hand kids toys & games. Help us recycle and pass on loved but now discarded toys! Please keep in mind the teenagers and pass on games for all ages -
    not just the wee ones.

Items to avoid

  • Electrical goods.

  • Furniture.
