About the Event
Join us on a good, long walk or rather, an adventure - including a section of the Forth and Clyde Canal, the River Kelvin and the River Clyde. Bringing old and new communities together to hear tales of the city and what it has to offer.
The walk will commence from Cowcaddens Subway Station at 10.15am, heading up onto the Forth & Clyde Canal at Speirs Wharf. From there, we will follow the tow-path (which is nice and flat) all the way to Maryhill.
We will then rejoin the tow-path and walk out past the Maryhill Locks and down to the aqueduct which spectacularly carries the canal over the River Kelvin. We will then pick up the path down the side of the River Kelvin all the way to Kelvingrove Park.
Those of us going on will continue down the side of the River Kelvin and pick up the Clyde Walkway at the Transport Museum, walk back along the Clyde and end our walk at St Enoch's Square.
